BIOGRAPHY

Scott Bruce is an artist in Fairhope, Alabama.  Although he was born in Georgia, he spent most of his life in Texas on the Gulf Coast.  He currently teaches art at the University of South Alabama.  Scott received his BFA from Sam Houston State University and his MFA from the University of Texas.  He spent a semester studying art in Florence, Italy, and a semester in Peru. Scott’s art has been shown in galleries across Texas and Alabama in both group shows and solo exhibitions.

His current work focuses on larger canvas paintings reflecting the gulf coast of Alabama. His love of the sea can be seen in the series he calls “Reflections.” Scott spent two years living on and sailing his sailboat, Allegro, around the Gulf Coast exploring the beauty of the sea that can only be seen from the ocean. Growing up he spent as much time as he could on the beach, fishing, swimming.

Painting is his major art outlet.  His works are in oil, acrylics, watercolors, and mixed media.  He has paintings for sale and will work on commission requested by clients who desire a specific type, size, or color to fit their personal style and taste.  He will install/hang works of art in your home or assist with placing works that fit a particular room and style.
